Abstract
Aim/Background: The study aims to investigate Rift Valley fever in Sudanese livestock and examine the tests used. Rift Valley fever is a transboundary disease that affects animals and humans. It is a single serotype RNA virus belonging to the family Bunyviridae and genus Phlebovirus. Mosquito is the main vector. The clinical findings were fever and abortion in pregnant animals, with high death rates in young, large species are less suspected. In man, RVF is an influenza-like illness; in severe cases disease develops complicated symptoms. The current study investigated RVF test quality from 2021 to 2022. The study question was what factors affect the population? We assumed two samples were independent and equally distributed. What if they differ? Then, we accepted type I error (α=0.1664), where the Shapiro-Wilk normality test significance was less than alpha (P<0.1664); Then, in 100 experiments, we were confident that 95% of the sample had an effect on the population and 5% had no effect. Then, we rejected the Null hypothesis (H0) that the two samples were not normally distributed.
Methods: For an experiment design and sample size (n=96), the sampling error was 1.18. Purposive and random selections were done on samples using simple random sampling.
Results: There were no significant differences in experiments no 1 and no 2 due to RVF using t-test (P=0.29), (P=0.16); However, regression analyses were significant and the agreement degree between trials was large (kappa=0.66).
Conclusion: The RVF test was found to be highly sensitive and specific, and multiple RVF tests are recommended.

Key words: ELISA; Experiment; Animal; RVF; Sudan
