Abstract
Because of rising energy prices and a lack of available energy, the majority of nations are now looking to create alternate sources of energy. Renewable energy sources are pure, unrestricted, and limitless. Solar energy has been suggested in recent global energy plans as a way so that non-renewable energy usage should be kept minimum. Solar energy system is mostly being implemented as grid connected system with national grid. Solar energy systems energy extracting is becoming a challenging phenomenon. The research work in this paper aims to do a comparison of MPPT strategies. Three strategies P & O, incremental conductance and fuzzy logic are designed and simulated in MATLAB Simulink to track the MPP. Solar-grid integration done by connecting a dc-dc converter with a load. Gate pulses of the converter are produced using the MPPT algorithms to track the maximum point and operate the system optimally nearer to the MPP. Every technique efficiency is evaluated by comparing the response time, overshoot and oscillations. Initially P & O approach is implemented in MATLAB and its limitations are discussed. Then, incremental approach is implemented and its response is checked. Finally, an advanced approach fuzzy logic is implemented. The comparison of the MPPT strategies includes graphical comparison and statistical comparison. Every technique advantage and limitations are also discussed in order to select the appropriate technique for a particular system. Fuzzy logic approach is the most efficient technique.

Key words: Perturb and observe; Fuzzy logic strategy; MPPT technique
