Treating Angle’s Class III with anterior cross bite with Jaw Functional Orthopedics. Clinics and Laboratory appliance construction protocols.

Abstract
Jaw Functional Orthopedics (JFO) is a branch of dentofacial orthopedics and, in Brazil a specialty. It works with the triad stimulus - central nervous system (CNS) integration – response. These stimuli are generated in the stomatognathic system (SS) by removable appliances that change the mandibular posture in a protocol which varies with the type of malocclusion and the facial characteristics of the individual, among other factors as pain, for instance.
Angle’s Class III malocclusion is one of the most challenging to treat with any malocclusion treatment protocol (Jaw Functional Orthopedics, Orthodontics, orthognathic surgery among others). The clinical diagnosis if it is a false or a true Class III is fundamental for treatment planning. The aim of this manuscript is show in which cases Jaw Functional Orthopedics is indicated and how functional orthopedic appliance construction and clinical managements must be done to achieve good results through a class III treatment case report.
